Something Fun!!!

Lets do something fun. It would rock if we can get a discussion going on this one. Ok, here is the question:

What moves our hearts and stirs our souls more, a song without lyrics allowing us to imagine our own thoughts and feelings, or a song with lyrics that shares something specific yet still touches us deeply?

    Hey Brian,

I am a lyricist by nature. I've loved poetry since AJH. That said, I find that nothing touches me deeper than my alone time with God, and it's during these times that I often want the sound of God-inspired lyricless music in the background...preferably without me knowing the words to the tune either. Sometimes, I'll just let the music help me meditate on my Lord, and sometimes I'll be inspired to sing an impromptu love song to Him.

    God bless you, my brother!

p.s. I'm thankful to have gotten back in touch with you...and even moreso to see what God's doing with your life!

  2. That's something I've actually been thinking about recently. Today in the car I was trying so hard to focus on the message that a song was conveying that I stopped really appreciating the art of the music. i think we're supposed to ENJOY wonderful music. Songs without words can let us do that without distraction. If only more radio stations felt the same way. Instrumental doesn't always mean Beethoven...you know?
